4th edition of Astrid Lindgren Literary Competition
Under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Children’s Commissioner and National Library the IV edition of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Literary Competition for a Contemporary Book for Children and Adolescents has been launched.
In December, 2014, 82 thousand “The First Book of My Baby” (FBMB) packages were distributed among mums of newborns in more than 90% of Maternity Hospitals all over the country. FBMB Package consisting of a book with educational texts for parents as well as poems to be read to children from birth, and a DVD with an educational film and lullabies was developed by “ABCXXI – All of Poland Reads to Kids” Foundation.The Project was realized under the honorary patronage of, and subsidized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It also received the honorary patronage of Children’s Commissioner. The partner of the Project was National Center for Culture.

We happily announce that the Competition for the best conducted „All of Poland Reads to Kids” Campaign in 2013/2014 school year has been settled. The winners were chosen from among 129 submissions from all over the country.

Ukraine is eager to join the “All of Europe Reads to Kids” program, which was initiated by our Foundation in 2011. On Thursday, Dec. 11th in Lviv, during a conference on children’s literature, a seminar on “All of Ukraine Reads to Kids” program will be held. The President of the Foundation, Irena Koźmińska will take an active part in the event and lecture about the basic assumptions and strategies of Polish reading campaign.
