“ABCXXI – All of Poland Reads to Kids” Foundation has summarized this year’s “All of Poland Reads to Kids” Campaign, which was conducted under the banner of “Wise School Reads to Kids” by awarding most active Leaders and Coordinators of the activities performed.

We happily announce that the Competition for the best conducted „All of Poland Reads to Kids” Campaign in 2013/2014 school year has been settled. The winners were chosen from almost 150 submissions from all over the country. The Competition Committee, which was comprised of Foundation’s President and members of staff, awarded 29 Prizes, 15 Commendations, 6 Special Commendations and 2 Special Awards. The winners, Coordinators and Leaders of the campaign from all over Poland, are people who have had distinctively contributed to the realization of the premises of the reading campaign. The most active Coordinators and Leaders, and this tendency has been visible for several years now, have been those from Silesian District. Among the laureates there were many representatives of Libraries. The award-winning are going to receive diplomas and books which were awarded in The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Literary Competition for a Contemporary Book for Children and Adolescents organized by the Foundation.

“ABCXXI – All of Poland Reads to Kids” Foundation has been conducting the “All of Poland Reads to Kids” social campaign since 2001. This year’s edition has been pursued under the banner “Wise School Reads to Kids”. The campaign’s goal is to make adults aware how important reading to children is for their overall development.  It is directed towards the whole society: parents, grandparents, teachers, educators, psychologists, priests, doctors, journalists and politicians. The campaign is being conducted all year round with the cooperation of nationwide network of Coordinators and Leaders (more than 8500 people). They are volunteers (teachers, librarians, staff members of community centers, etc.) from more than 3200 locations. For all those engaged in the pursuing of the campaign, the Foundation organizes once a year the Competition for the best conducted reading campaign in a particular school year.
